hunting rifles does way more damage per shot, but it has a slower rate of fire, being bolt-action and all. with mods it has twice the ammo capacity of the sniper rifle too. i'd stick with the hunting rifle since it's more rugged and manly (it is held together by the power of duct tape FFS), and because suppressors are for filthy casuals.

Trust me, stealth is your best enemy. Or, you could just use Anti-Materiel rifle with all the mods (Gun Runner's DLC) and explosive (GRA) ammo.

Out of the regular scoped rifles, the AMR has the highest damage potential, but it's really a boring and impractical gun to use, especially when playing on hardcore.
